Leros är en fantastisk liten ö om man söker lugnet och friden. Vi valde att bo på Alinda beachområdet som i mitt tycke var den bästa delen på hela Leros. Hotellet hette Alea Mare och var ett litet familjeägt hotell med härlig frukost. Fin utsikt från balkongen mot havet och AC funkade problemfritt. Fräscht och trevliga ägare/personal. Stranden låg direkt utanför entrén. Du behövde korsa vägen som inte var så värst trafikerad. När det kommer till sevärdeheter så var vi på några ställen.
 
 
 
Leros har en historia av ockupation.

Under andra världskrigets inledande skede bombades Leros svårt av brittiskt flyg, och efter vapenstilleståndet 1943 intog britterna staden. Därefter fortsatte bombningarna, nu från tyskt flyg. I ett slag mellan 12 och 16 november 1943, intog så tyskarna ön, och behöll kontrollen över den till krigets slut. Leros är den ö i Medelhavet, näst efter Kreta, som blivit mest bombad. Efter kriget kom Leros under brittiskt mandat, tills ön 1948 återgick till Grekland tillsammans med de övriga Dodekaneserna. Bellinis tower var tyskarnas sjukhus under den här tiden och på war cemetary ligger många främst brittiska soldater begravda. Vi besökte även (efter 500 trappsteg upp 256 möh) borgen Pandeli. Den är från 900-talet.
 
 
Fantastisk utsikt !
 
Utöver det så gillade vi den grekiska maten och på Leros är den så grekisk den kan bli. Med lite moderna inslag för turister då. Alla var väldigt vänliga och gästfria. Rekommenderar en resa till Leros.
